Absentee Ballot
Due to the passage of the statewide ballot proposal 22-2 in November of 2022, all eligible and registered voters in Michigan may now request to vote absentee in all future elections.
A one-time written request or application must be submitted to the local clerk. The written request or application must contain a signature of the registered voter. Election law does not allow for anyone other than the registered voter to sign the written request or application.
Following the submission of the one-time written request or application, an absentee ballot will automatically be sent to the registered voter for every future election. No future applications will be required for signature.
Any absentee voter who has previously been on a Permanent absentee voter list to receive ballot applications for every election will now be put on a Permanent absentee ballot list if the box was checked on the last two ballot applications sent to you. If the box was not checked, it is possible that no more applications will be sent to you for any future elections and you may have to request one if you'd like to still vote absentee.
To request an Absentee Ballot Application from the Clerk, call (989) 875-3352 or email: hdrowley24@outlook.com
RETURNING AN ABSENTEE BALLOT
There are many ways to return an Absentee Ballot. The easiest way to return the ballot is to drop it in the mail in the postage paid envelope you receive with the ballot. Another option would be to place your ballot in the secure Drop Box located outside the Township Hall. Other options include bringing it directly to the Clerk or bringing it to the Polls on Election day between 7am - 8pm.
If you have any questions regarding these options, or other options available to you, contact the Clerk's office.
